Dementia Action Week is The Alzheimers Society's biggest & longest running awareness campaign. With diagnosis rates at a 5 year low, this year's theme is diagnosis. It's a theme close to our hearts at The Loft.
The Alzheimers Society offers help & advice to anyone affected by dementia. From better understanding signs & symptoms, to feeling empowered to seek a diagnosis & next steps. From 16th - 22nd May they're doing what they can do to encourage diagnosis & improve the quality of lives of everyone affected.
Owner Wendy personally understands the positive impact early diagnosis can have, after her own father was diagnosed with early onset dementia.
Dementia Action Week aims to raise awareness of the help & support that is out there.
Join our charity quiz night, held during Alzheimers Society Dementia Action Week to help raise awareness & fundraising, Friday 20th May 7pm to 10pm.
Tickets are £6pp & all profits raised will be donated to The Alzheimers Society, as well as donations through a raffle.
Reasons why dementia diagnosis rates have fallen:
Misconception around memory loss just being a part of getting old
Being in denial
Referral waiting times to see specialists
